There isnt much to say about this classic cranberry sauce, except that I used to hate cranberry sauce. I really enjoy this take on the cranberry sauce my grampy used to bring to Thanksgiving every year.
Ingredients
1 bag fresh cranberries
1 cup orange juice, freshly squeezed if possible
1 cup sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground ginger
3 tsp orange zest
Directions
- Bring sugar and orange juice to boil in a medium saucepan. Stir occasionally until sugar is dissolved.
- Add cranberries and cook for about 10 minutes, or until cranberries have popped open.
- Stir in cinnamon and ginger for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in orange zest. Mash with a potato masher until desired consistency.
